What does a complete log scan look like from start to finish? This unedited walkthrough shows the full process: walking around the log, capturing both end faces, and watching the 3D model build in real time.

The video runs about three minutes and covers more than just the scan itself — it also demonstrates reviewing the results, inspecting the 3D model, and exploring the end-face detail. The actual scanning portion takes well under two minutes. No tripod, no calibration jig, no external hardware. Just the phone in hand.

What you’re seeing in the video:

  • End face capture — the app detects the log’s cut face and maps its boundary using both the camera and LiDAR depth sensor
  • Barrel walk — walking the length of the log while the app collects depth data from every angle it can see
  • Refining phase — a second pass to fill in any coverage gaps, guided by the on-screen indicator
  • 3D reconstruction — the app builds a complete 3D model and computes length, diameter, taper, sweep, volume, and board feet

The result is a full dimensional profile of the log, accurate to within 1–2% of tape measurements. For the detailed accuracy data behind that claim, see our field test results.
